Maternity Photoshoot FAQ

While every woman and every pregnancy is different, generally speaking, between 28-32 weeks is the best time to schedule your Maternity Shoot.

This timeframe puts you out of the typical “nausea” period, you bump is typically beautifully round, and you’re not too close to your due date that an early arrival would interfere with the session.

Also, the bigger you get the more uncomfortable you get (speaking from experience!).

Just like my traditional boudoir photoshoots, a maternity photography experience lasts about 5 hours (plenty of pee breaks!). We will start out sitting for Professional Hair and Make Up, then we will start shooting!

I will guide you through every pose, paying close attention to your comfort level and offering plenty of breaks. During the session, you can have access to the props and items in my client closet (or I can help you choose your own pieces). After we wrap up, we will take a much needed break (hello lunch!) and I will get to editing your images.

After about 90 minutes, you’ll return to the studio to see your incredible images and pick your products! This way you don’t have to wait weeks wondering when your photos will be ready! It takes about three weeks for delivery of most products.

At my studio, I have several pieces that are available for you to use ranging from bodysuits to beautiful dresses. I will also be happy to help you pick out outfits that suit your style and personality! I want to create a truly customized maternity experience for you!

In my mission to create a unique maternity experience for you, there are several options you can choose from for the location of your maternity photoshoot. First, my Syracuse studio is beautifully appointed (with a potty!).

I have the option of using beautiful studio backdrops or my traditional boudoir set up (or a combination of both). I also absolutely love to explore the beauty of Syracuse and CNY- there are several waterfalls that are outstanding backdrops to your beautiful pregnancy. I also love to head out to lakeside locations to catch sunrises or sunsets! If you are an adventure junkie, we can totally head to the Catskills or Adirondacks and get you your photoshoot on top of a mountain!

One of the most unique sessions I offer are underwater maternity photoshoots (season dependent), so if you’re like a fish in the water, underwater may be your jam! During our phone consultation, we can chat about all of the options!
