The Beauty of Real Skin: The Real You

Authentic Boudoir Photography is what my Syracuse NY studio is all about. I’ve spent years looking at women through my lens. I’ve seen mothers, survivors, and dreamers. And if there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: your “imperfections” are actually just the evidence of a life fully lived.

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of AI-generated images that make people look like plastic mannequins. It feels cold and disconnected.

At Boudoir by Rae Taryn, I do things differently. I believe in a luxury finish that still feels like the truth.

The Art of the Polish: My Editing Philosophy

When clients ask me about my process, they often want to know how much I “fix.” My goal is always to make you look like the most radiant version of yourself.

I use a professional, airbrushed approach to skin. I love that soft, ethereal glow that makes a portrait feel like a piece of art. However, there is a big difference between a polished finish and erasing someone’s soul.

Authentic Boudoir Photography is always my focus. I will always give you that high-end, magazine-quality skin tone, but I won’t hide the things that tell your story. I don’t remove:

The scars that show your strength and resilience.
The birthmarks that are uniquely yours.
The permanent features that make you recognizable to the people who love you.

Why Authenticity is the New Luxury

In 2026, we are surrounded by fake images. Because of that, there is something incredibly powerful about a portrait that is both beautiful and honest.

I use cinematic lighting to highlight your curves and professional posing to find your best angles. This allows me to create a stunning, polished result without needing to “reconstruct” you in Photoshop. When you look at your gallery, I want you to see a masterpiece—but I also want you to recognize your own heart in the images.

How to Prepare for Your Session

If you’re nervous about being in front of the camera, remember that I am here to guide you. You don’t need to be “perfect” to be a work of art.

A Message from Rae

I know what it’s like to be your own worst critic. I’ve been there. But I also know the magic that happens when you finally stop apologizing for your body and start celebrating it.

You deserve to have portraits that feel luxury and high-end, but still feel like you. You are enough exactly as you are today, and I can’t wait to show you that.
