Absolutely! Some of my favorite sessions have happened because a client said, “I have the perfect place in mind.”

Whether it’s a secluded waterfall, a quiet lake, a mountain overlook, your favorite beach, or a hidden trail that holds special meaning, I’m always excited to create portraits in places that tell your story.

I happily travel up to 2.5 hours from my Syracuse studio at no additional travel fee. Beyond that, I’m more than happy to travel wherever your adventure takes us. Whether it’s another state, the coast, the mountains, or even another country, I’ll work with you to create a customized travel plan that covers transportation and accommodations.

Travel has always been one of my greatest passions, and I genuinely believe some of the most meaningful portraits happen in places that make your soul come alive. The best time for an outdoor boudoir photoshoot depends on the look you’re dreaming of, but one thing never changes: beautiful light makes all the difference.

To create the soft, flattering light you see throughout my portfolio, I schedule most outdoor sessions during sunrise or the last couple of hours before sunset, often called the “golden hour.” During these times, the light is warm, natural, and incredibly flattering, creating the dreamy, fine art feel that makes outdoor portraits so magical.

The good news is that outdoor boudoir photography isn’t limited to one season. I photograph women throughout spring, summer, fall, and winter, and each season brings its own unique beauty. Wildflowers and waterfalls in the spring, lush green forests in the summer, vibrant autumn colors, or fresh snow in the winter all create completely different experiences.

Winter sessions are absolutely possible and can be breathtaking, but because Central New York winters can be quite cold, they’re typically a little shorter to keep you comfortable.

As with any outdoor adventure, Mother Nature gets the final say. If severe weather like lightning, high winds, or a blizzard decides to make an appearance, we’ll simply reschedule your session for the next available date. My priority is always creating beautiful artwork while making sure you have an enjoyable, safe, and relaxed experience..

Your comfort and privacy are always one of my top priorities.

When planning an outdoor boudoir session, I carefully choose locations that are naturally secluded or schedule your session during times of day when they’re least likely to be busy. Over the years, I’ve built a list of beautiful locations that offer a wonderful balance of scenery and privacy.

That said, unless we’re photographing on privately owned property with exclusive access, I can never guarantee that someone won’t occasionally pass by. Nature is a shared space, and that’s simply part of photographing outdoors.

If someone does approach the area, we simply pause for a moment, cover up if needed, and continue once the space is clear. In reality, this happens far less often than most women imagine, and my clients are usually surprised by just how private and relaxed the experience feels.

If complete privacy is important to you, I’m happy to talk through location options or even photograph on private property if you have a special place in mind.

My goal is always to create an experience where you feel comfortable, respected, and able to fully enjoy the adventure without worrying about anything else.

One of the beautiful things about photographing outdoors is that every session is a little different, and sometimes Mother Nature likes to keep us on our toes.

The good news? A little rain isn’t automatically a reason to cancel. In fact, a passing rain shower or even a moderately steady rain can create some incredibly beautiful, moody images and often leads to the most spectacular skies once it passes. As long as conditions are safe and you’re up for a little adventure, we can absolutely continue with your session.

If the weather poses a safety concern, such as lightning, severe storms, high winds, or other hazardous conditions, we’ll simply reschedule for the next available date. Your safety and comfort will always come first.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that some of my favorite outdoor portraits have happened on days when the forecast looked less than perfect. Dramatic clouds, fresh rain, misty waterfalls, and soft light often create images that simply can’t be replicated on a cloudless day.
No matter what the forecast says, we’ll make the decision together. My goal is never to rush the experience or settle for “good enough.” It’s to create beautiful artwork while making sure you feel safe, relaxed, and excited for the adventure.
