From Insecure to Iconic: Cassie’s Transformation Told Through Boudoir
There are moments in life when the earth doesn’t shake, but something shifts.
You stand taller. You exhale for the first time in years. You look in the mirror — and finally see her.
Cassie didn’t set out to take boudoir photos. Not right away. First, she chased something even bigger: herself. It was a winding road of growth, grit, and a love letter to a body she hadn’t yet seen fully.
This is her story — not about seduction or lace or what she wore (or didn’t). It’s about what she felt. What she saw. And how boudoir caught up to the version of her who always deserved to feel beautiful.
👇 Watch her Confessional in full at the end of this post. But first, let’s walk through this ride — milestone by milestone — from butterflies to complete confidence.

Hear it straight from Cassie. The laughs. The fears. The tears. Every moment she stepped into herself again.
She Didn’t Feel Ready. But She Was Always Worthy.
Cassie’s journey into boudoir wasn’t impulsive. It was… simmering. Quietly waiting its turn behind decades of “not yet” and “maybe when.”
“It was always this little thought in the back of my mind… how cool would that be? To get dressed up, feel like a celebrity, be seen through someone else’s lens instead of judging myself through my own.”
But it wasn’t until she lost 120 pounds — and found a new strength — that the spark turned into action. That “someday” got upgraded to “Let’s go.”
Her story wasn’t about trying to seduce anyone else. It was about finally honoring herself.
“What better way to celebrate a body I’ve worked hard for… than actually seeing it, fierce and radiant, the way other people see me?”
Why Boudoir By Rae Taryn?
Truly? Cassie had choices. So. Many. Choices. Boudoir photographers are everywhere. But her reason for choosing my lens?
Connection.
“The video on your website? That’s what did it. You weren’t just taking photos — you had a why. I could feel your soul in it. Your view. Your gallery. Your eye. It felt right.”
She didn’t need just a photographer. She needed a witness who saw the whole picture — not just the angles.
So she booked. Nervous. Excited. And full of bravest-kind-of butterflies.
Getting to the Shoot
Now let me say this: most of my clients arrive with luggage. Physically and emotionally.
Cassie brought both. A suitcase full of “just in case” outfits, and a few decades of doubts jammed in the zippers.
And that’s okay. We packed light on pressure and heavy on heart.
“Despite all the nerves, your structure ACTUALLY calmed me. The texts, the prep guides, the fact that I could contact you? I never once felt forgotten. I felt like I mattered — even before I stepped in the door.”
Spoiler alert: She didn’t use most of that luggage.
“You had everything I didn’t even know I needed. It was effortless. All I had to do was show up.”
Hair. Makeup. Magic.
Cassie describes herself as “low maintenance.” So naturally, makeup was a stress point. Until it wasn’t.
“I don’t do glam. But with your artist? It was like a warm-up for the soul. I got to slowly see myself come into being. It felt exciting, not intimidating.”
We chatted. We laughed through the nerves. The flourishes came last — but the ease came first.
The Shoot: Wildly Structured. Beautifully Fluid.
Throughout her session, we moved with purpose — intimate lighting here, glam vanity shot there, deep shadows for drama, candids for fire. We flowed station to station, outfit to outfit, moment to moment.
But always: together.
“You had a clear structure. I felt your vision. But I never once felt confined or rushed. You created WITH me — not just around me.”
That’s what I want every session to be: not a performance, but a collaboration.
The Reveal: Seeing Herself Again… Maybe for the First Time
And then…
“You showed me this one photo… I hadn’t seen myself smile like that in YEARS.”
She cried. I cried. And that moment — that ignition? That was everything.
“It was me. Not the critical version I scroll past in my selfies. It was the real me. Happy. Open. Radiant.”
“I told myself I’d just grab a few of the best shots. Then I saw all the best shots. There wasn’t one I didn’t love.”
The Afterglow
“Bad days happen. But then I open my photo album… or scroll through the gallery again… and I remember. That was a good day. That was me.”
Her husband — the quiet type, the “doesn’t get emotional about photos” type — saw her gallery and said just one thing: “WOW!”
Cassie’s Message to You
Still sitting on the maybe fence? Still whispering “not yet” while you scroll galleries and stuff dreams back in drawers?
Here’s what Cassie wants you to know:
“Boudoir is not about nudity. It’s not about seduction. It’s a state of mind — not a state of dress.”
“You’re not too old. You don’t need to lose more weight. You don’t need to be a model. If money is holding you back? Rae has options.”
“If you’ve ever wanted to see yourself — really see yourself — do this. She’ll give you the proof you didn’t know you were missing.”
